Vision Statement
The Church is...
- ...An Enabling Community - We dream of a community of believers helping one another become all we
can be in Christ. We are focused
on helping people grow, meeting people’s needs, and taking Christ’s love to the world. We see a church
focused on growing people in Christ, not perpetuating an institution.
- ... A Learning Community - We have a vision of smiling, friendly people entering the church
with Bibles and notebooks in hand, eager to learn more of God and His Word. We see youth growing
in discipleship, attending not just for social relationships, but to grow as Christians and feed on the truths
of God. We dream of programs which stimulate thoughtful understanding of God’s teaching and plan for
our lives in an atmosphere which fosters spiritual growth and encourages practical application. We see
parents bringing their children to a secure learning environment where laughing children are engaged in learning
Biblical Truth.
- ... An Evangelizing Community - We envision a community of faith focused on reaching out to others
with deeds of caring and the truth of the Gospel. We dream of committed members inviting others to
heart-felt faith in Christ. We see a church where people are expecting God to work, and souls are being saved.
God’s miraculous transforming power is very evident, and sinners from all walks of life are redeemed for profitable
service. We see a genuine concern for eternal salvation permeating all aspects of our congregational life and ministry.
We hear the truth being proclaimed with boldness, sensitivity, and relevance. We see the truth being lived in the
lives of the people as they reach out to meet the needs of others, share the grace of God in word and deed, and
model an evangelistic lifestyle. We see youth reaching out to youth and children inviting other children to enjoy the
activities and ministry of the church and find a place of belonging.
- ... A Worshiping Community - We see a church where passionate spirituality is present in each
worship experience so that each worshipper leaves knowing they’ve been in the presence of the Living Lord.
We visualize a people gathered with radiant faces, free to worship as the Spirit leads. We hear joyful voices
united in harmony, celebrating the worth of our Savior. We perceive people sharing from the heart what God
has done for them in answer to prayer, and how their lives have been surprised by joy at what God is doing.
We see worship permeating the personal, family, vocational, and recreational life of the church so that God’s
presence and grace are regularly seen and openly acknowledged in the community. We see each person practicing
the discipline of regular personal and family devotions.
- ... A Praying Community - We see a people of prayer who practice intercessory prayer as a large part
of personal and corporate life. We see a cadre of persons with the spiritual gift of prayer engaged in spiritual
warfare against the adversary. We hear praise being offered as prayers are answered and lives are transformed.
- ... A Discipling Community - We perceive empowered leaders guiding a congregation into spiritual growth.
We see individuals exercising their gifts in ministry as part of a body of people who are gifted, equipped,
empowered, and involved in ministry and mission. We see people growing in discipleship in their understanding
of the faith, their obedience to the Word of God, and their practice of ministry. We see ourselves as a people who
are being mentored as we mentor others.
- ... A Giving Community - We perceive a people who are giving regularly, sacrificially, and cheerfully to
the support of the congregation, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel around the world. We dream
of a ministry that has sufficient resources to accomplish great things for God because God’s people are generous.
We dream of a congregation of people who give not only financially, but of themselves in loving service.
- ... A Relational Community - We envision a community where every individual has developed at least
seven loving relationships, where people are caring for those around them, and where individuals share their time
and substance with one another. We see regular meetings of holistic small groups where relationships are being
built and people are being built up in the Lord.
- ...An Expanded Facility - We see a Family Life and Ministry Center built for recreation, evangelism,
instruction, and fellowship.
